Did you know that healthy forests serve as “carbon vaults” or “carbon sinks” because they lock up huge amounts of carbon dioxide? Protecting forests defends against global warming and mitigates climate change, as well as conserving biodiversity!

The Amazon, the world’s largest rainforest, is losing its ability to be a carbon vault due to changes like deforestation. Some parts are now a “carbon source”, releasing carbon into the atmosphere.

🌱 Our sustainable artwear and artdécor give back to Rainforest Trust, which protects forests and keeps carbon stored to create a healthier future for our planet! So far, (y)our donation has protected 600 acres of tropical forest and other critical habitat and kept 88,500 metric tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalents safely stored.

What other carbon sinks can you think of?
