We have the power to save our Planet and stop the extinction-climate crisis!
SAVE OUR PLANET – THERE’S NO PLANET B! 👣 7+ billion People, projected to reach 8 billion on 15 November 2022. 🐵 8.1 million animal and plant species, of which 5.5 million (75%) are insects and 2.6 million are not. 👀 Only 2 million species are “known”, meaning formally described and named by scientists! Every year, scientists describe thousands of new species. 19 new species were discovered in 2022, including a millipede named after Taylor Swift and a tree named after Leonardo DiCaprio.
THE 6TH MASS EXTINCTION / BIODIVERSITY CRISIS IS HERE ❗️1 million animal and plant species are threatened with extinction, including 550,000 insect species and 625,000 non-insect species! Biodiversity is declining. ‼️ ½ million land animal and plant species are committed to extinction, meaning they don’t have enough habitat to survive long-term. ⚠️ Many species have gone extinct since 1500, including about 1.5% of mammal and bird species and 3% of amphibians. Human destruction of nature has been accelerating, and the extinction rate is going up. 1/3 of the total increase in species extinction risk has occurred since 1994.
TOGETHER WE HAVE POWER TO STOP EXTINCTION & BIODIVERSITY LOSS! 🛑 We must reverse or at least stop extinction because it destabilizes ecosystems that People depend on. 💪 Don’t despair! We have the power to stop the 1 million threatened species from dying out. 📉 How? By acting to mitigate drivers of extinction like direct exploitation, habitat destruction, climate change, and invasive species.
ACTIONS WE’RE TAKING 🌱We offer nature-inspired artwear and artdécor, designed by global artists, that is sustainable, unique, and gives back to at-risk wildlife through our partnership with Rainforest Trust. 👏 So far, (y)our donations have protected 1,195 acres of tropical rainforest and other critical habitat and kept 176,262 mT of carbon dioxide equivalents safely stored!
