Be a voice for nature – speak up for biodiversity and a stable climate!
WHY SPEAK UP?
🌏 The Planet can’t speak for itself.
⚠️ We are amid the 6th mass extinction and have 8 years (2030) to avert the worst climate impacts.
🗣 We must act now to save species and stop climate change, and action includes speaking up!
SPEAKING UP MAKES A DIFFERENCE!
📢 Our voices are being heard and making a difference.
👀 2021 saw a huge achievement: global recognition that nature has a critical role to play in solving both the biodiversity and climate crises, in the form of biodiversity and climate commitments by governments and businesses.
👣 In 2022, we can speak up to accelerate this recognition and turn commitments into tangible, transformative steps. Action on the ground > plans on paper!
HOW CAN YOU SPEAK UP?
😓 It can be hard to find and use your voice to speak up for nature, so here are 3 ideas inspired by Katharine Hayhoe, Chief Scientist for The Nature Conservancy.
① Talk to your friends, family, and colleagues about biodiversity loss and climate change. How do they affect us and what can we do to fix them?
② Join or support a nongovernmental organization (NGO) that amplifies your voice and pushes for political and business action.
③ Advocate system-wide change toward 3P Sustainability – Planet (environmental), People (social), and Prosperity (economic) – in public policy dialogue with government decision-makers.
🌱 We believe that together, we can win this fight to save nature and build a healthy future for our Planet and People!
