They’re “just trees”, right? Wrong – trees have critical global impact!

GLOBAL IMPACT
🌲Trees impact biodiversity, wildlife, carbon storage, and People.
🌏 Biodiversity: scientists call trees “the backbone of the natural ecosystem” because without them, other wildlife struggles to survive.
🐾 Wildlife: trees are habitat for 50% of plant and animal species. Forests are habitat for 10 million invertebrate species, 75% of bird species, and 68% of mammal species!
⚡️Carbon storage: forests provide 50% of the Planet’s carbon storage, and diverse forests store more than monocultures.
👣 People: trees provide jobs and money, are used for food, shelter, and medicine, and have spiritual and cultural meaning.

THREAT: TREE EXTINCTION
❗️More than 100 tree species are extinct in the wild.
⚠️ 17,500 tree species – 30% of the world’s 60,000 tree species – are at risk of extinction.
⛔️ Tree loss leads to habitat loss which leads to extinction risk for animal and plant species. Forest-dependent species declined 53% since 1970.

SOLUTION: SAVE TREES, NOW!
👀 In August 2022, scientists called for urgent action to save at-risk tree species.
🛑 How? Stop deforestation!
🛟 Protecting 1 acre of land saves 300 to 1000 trees!

WHAT ARE WE DOING?
🫶 Through our partnership with nonprofit Rainforest Trust, we create impact, help the environment, support Indigenous Peoples, and protect critical biodiversity.
👏 So far, Rainforest Trust has protected 41.8 million acres across the globe and 2,329 endangered species!
💭 We share their proven belief that protecting critical habitat is the most effective way to save species.

WHAT CAN YOU DO?
♻️ Make sure tree products are sustainably sourced.
🥩 Learn where your food comes from.
🗣 Call for joined-up government policy on biodiversity and climate change that recognizes trees’ importance.
